Trimming your wick is the surest way to keep your candle burning properly.

It is important to always cut your wood wick to a maximum of 1/4 inch before the first lighting. This will keep a beautiful flame from a safe height and will also reduce the production of smoke.

Thereafter, always cut the small piece of charred wick before each lighting. This end of the wick is already used and will cause your flame to go out or smoke if you leave it on. This is the number one reason people have trouble with wood drill bits! Don't be afraid to cut your wick very short around 1/8 inch.
